We developed an IoT device prototype designed for advanced sensorization and Bluetooth communication at both residential and industrial levels. The system was capable of monitoring a broad set of environmental parameters, including temperature, pressure, humidity, light intensity, air quality, CO₂ levels, sound, and presence through a PIR sensor. It also integrated a microphone for noise monitoring and an infrared emitter that enabled the control of external devices.
The primary objective was to determine whether the recorded values stayed within the desired comfort zone and to help maintain that zone over time. This made it possible to ensure healthier and more efficient environments in both residential spaces and industrial facilities. The result was a multifunctional IoT sensor that combined environmental monitoring with automation capabilities.
A key challenge in the development process was the integration of an IC antenna and the incorporation of a sensor that was still in its pre-series prototype stage. This required close collaboration with suppliers to test early-stage samples and ensure full system reliability. By solving these issues, we achieved robust communication and dependable performance.
The success of this prototype strengthened the company’s technological positioning and contributed to its eventual acquisition by a multinational corporation.
